Our youth strive to come together as young Christians to support the church, do service work as a group, and meet in fellowship to grow in the spirit. All youth from 7th through 12th grades are welcome! You don’t need to be a member of Immanuel or Lutheran to be a part of Immanuel’s youth group. All youth are encouraged to sit together in worship on Sunday mornings. Friends are always invited to services and activities.
If you are looking for new friends and a chance to have some fun while learning about your faith, come join us!
We enter Christianity at Baptism, then we celebrate our First Communion, then we get Confirmed and become “adults” in the Church. These events are an important part of our faith journey. But what happens after Confirmation? Does our faith journey end, or is it just getting started? What happens when we have questions about our salvation, or why does God let bad things happen? Who can we turn to and ask, “how do we know God exists?” We are creating a Youth Group at Immanuel that provides high schoolers with the opportunity to ask these questions, and many more, in a small and comfortable setting among friends.
Youth Group is not about homework, or presentations, or tests. It’s not a bible study group or a classroom lecture about God and religion. It’s about creating and maintaining a dialogue where youth can challenge, be challenged, engage, and share insight as they continue their faith journey. From time to time, there will be a few games and possibly some shenanigans (in a good way).
All high school youth, members or not, are welcome to join us any week at 9 a.m.
