Confirmation class is a three-year process and is co-taught. This allows for more youth involvement and additional time to cover material from the old and new testaments while also focusing on the origins of our Lutheran faith. We draw on various materials including Spark House Colaborate or RE: Form as well as using variety of DVDs and guests to help understand what it means to be among “God’s faithful people.”
We recognize that for youth at this stage of development comes a mix of changes involving physical growth, experiences, emotions, and thoughts. Confirmation class is a place for holding conversations, inviting hard questions, and sharing among the group. Having a special place to gather fosters important peer relationships as well as one’s experience with faith and prayer.
We meet at 9 a.m. on Sunday and expect 70% attendance along with participation in two service projects each year. Our goal is to invite them to “Have God in Their Heart.”
