Leadership

PASTOR

Immanuel Lutheran Church appointed John S. Keogh as its new pastor in December of 2018. After living in New York City for 30 years, Pastor John and his husband Stephen made the move to Attleboro for Pastor John’s first call as a Lutheran pastor.

Pastor John has felt connected to God as far back as the first grade. Raised as a Roman Catholic, he became a Lutheran in 2011 and earned his Master of Divinity in 2017.

For worship, Pastor John believes that “good liturgy deserves our care and attention.” He tends to direct his sermons to the everyday concerns of a contemporary Christian and wishes worship to be “a true and joyful song to the Lord.” He also feels that being a pastor isn’t only a job for Sundays.
